AN ARRAY OF EXHIBITORS UNMATCHED IN FRANCE OR IN EUROPE
The new positioning of TOLEXPO within the framework of GLOBAL INDUSTRIE, has made it a not to be missed event for all professionals in search of:
- specific know-how
A SECTOR IN THE THROES OF (R)EVOLUTION
Several major trends have emerged in recent year in the field of sheet metal working.
There is a power race in the field of 2D fibre laser cutting, with a shift from 4 kW to 10 kW leading to higher cutting speeds that push the optics and the mechanics of the machines to their limits.
2 PROCESS AUTOMATION AND ROBOTIZATION
The momentum is being maintained by the evolution of programming tools. As runs get shorter, it is hard to reduce the impact of makeready times. Robots therefore need to be set working quickly and the programming needs to be done off-line. On the welding front, virtual reality programming solutions are starting to make their appearance. Currently they are still at the prototype stage but in the longer term things will advance…
The automatic configuration of press brakes has been the most striking advance. During changeovers the operator selects the chosen programme and the machine positions the die. All that remains to be done is to start the run, bend the parts and then move on to the next job. It offers an answer to shorter run lengths, which make makeready times critical. Some press brakes even have the ability to configure themselves between two folds in order to adapt to the shape of the part.
4 THE DIGITIZATION OF PRODUCTION PROCESSES
Digitization is advancing here, as in every sector industry, but for the moment supply seems to be ahead of demand. In addition, production monitoring and cost analysis are assuming an increasingly important role, assisted by new technologies such as communicating sensors, communication networks…
5 ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING WITH METALS
An increasing presence through a ‘hybrid’ approach. Unlike classic technologies such as powder bed sintering, it involves using a laser beam to fuse powder on a plate or simple mould (cladding) or wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM). The benefit of the latter technology is that it allows significant quantities to be deposited and the production of large, massive pieces.
TOLEXPO, the only event totally dedicated to working metal
Since its launch in 2005, TOLEXPO has confirmed its position as France’s leading event totally dedicated to production equipment and technologies for the working of sheets, coils, tubes and sections:
